NOTICE INVITING BIDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the REDONDO BEACH UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (“District”) will receive sealed bids for the CLASSROOM COOLING PHASE II SUMMER 2018 PROJECTS FOR SOUTH BAY ADULT SCHOOL, LINCOLN ES, ADAMS MIDDLE SCHOOL, JEFFERSON ES, REDONDO UNION HIGH SCHOOL, PARRAS MIDDLE SCHOOL; and TULITA ES at the office of:

no later than May 18, 2018 at 2 pm, at which time or thereafter said bids will be opened and read aloud.  Bids received after this time will be returned unopened.  Bids shall be valid for 60 calendar days after the bid opening date.  No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period sixty (60) calendar days after the date set for the opening of bids.  Each bid response must conform and be responsive to this invitation and all other documents comprising the bid.  Copies of the bid documents and forms are now available at the Redondo Beach Unified School District’s web page at www.rbusd.org under “District Notices” and in the purchasing office at 1401 Inglewood Avenue, Redondo Beach, CA  90278.

Bids must be submitted on the District’s Bid Forms as found in the above referenced documents in a sealed envelope clearly marked in accordance with the Information for Bidders.

Bids must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier’s check, or a Bid Bond in favor of the District in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price. 

A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held for each of the sites considered STAND ALONE PROJECTS: South Bay Adult School, Lincoln Elementary, Adams Middle School, Jefferson Elementary, Redondo Union High School, Parras Middle School, & Tulita Elementary on the following date(s) and time(s):  May 10, 2018 from 8am to 2pm or May 15, 2018 from 8am to 2pm.  Each and every Bidder must attend the Pre-Bid Conference and sign-in.  Prospective bidders  MAY NOT visit the Project Site without making arrangements through the Fred Naile, Director of Facilities Management & Construction, 310-901-8947.  Bids WILL NOT be accepted from any bidder who did not attend the Pre-Bid Conference.

The bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following appropriate classification(s) of contractor’s license(s), for the work bid upon, and must maintain the license(s) throughout the duration of the Contract: 

B - General Contractor or C20 - Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Contractor

Award of Contract:  The District shall award the Contract for the Project to the lowest responsible bidder as determined from the individual (stand-alone) school site bids, by the District.  The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process.  Bid protests, if any, must comply with the requirements set forth in the Information for Bidders in order to be timely and considered by the District.
